Hydraulic Bridge

Project Snapshot

Real moveable bridges sometimes use hydraulic-powered mechanisms to raise and lower the bridge deck!

Here's a bonus goal: Create the bridge first and test its sturdiness, then take it to the next level with the hydraulic lift!

Tips and Troubleshooting

If the bridge isn't raising very high, then...

  • There may not be enough water in the syringes. Add water until there's a total of 10ml between both syringes (not including water in the tubing).

  • The syringe adapter may be tied too far away from the hinge. Try gluing the cable tie to the bridge so it doesn't slide forward as the bridge raises.
